The problems of legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of electrification of residents of new buildings were discussed in Bishkek

Event was moderated by the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex and Subsurface Kozhobek Ryspaev.

On December 26, 2014, Parliamentary Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex and Subsurface in cooperation with the Project "Strengthening Voice and Accountability of Citizens’ Participation and Oversight of Budget Processes" in the Kyrgyz Republic (hereinafter - VAP) organized a "round table" on "Problems of the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of new electricity consumers."

Event was moderated by the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex and Subsurface Kozhobek Ryspaev.

The VAP Manager Bekbolot Bekiev greeted participants and emphasized that the issue of providing electricity to new buildings cannot be solved by local authorities on account of local budgets, because 70-80% of LSG budgets – subsidized.

Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on law and order, and crime of the Kyrgyz Republic Kenzhebek Bokoev presented an analysis of the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic and current situation to ensure the power supply of new consumers. He also presented the draft law "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Kyrgyz Republic", which aims to regulate the issues of providing electricity to new consumers.

Minister of Energy and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic Kubanychbek Turdubaev made an accent on the implementation of the laws of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Energy", "On Power".

Representative of "Severelectro" presented the results of the analysis on the interaction and new consumers of electricity as part of their own programs. During the event, representatives of the NGO "Elsen" FD "Unison" and local authorities also told the problems of electrification to new consumers; shared with examples and ways of solutions.

By the results of the "round table" participants adopted a resolution in which they express their support and encouragement in favor of the proposed draft Law "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Kyrgyz Republic", initiated by members of Parliament. 

The "round table" attended the members of Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic, Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, representatives of electricity distribution companies, LSG bodies, international and non-governmental organizations and the media.
