December 28, 2011 at school hall, Tort-Kul village, an assembly was held with the participation of local residents, 170 people from three villages.
The event was organized and conducted under the project "The voice of citizens and the accountability of local self-government: the budget processes” ”, financed by the Swiss Government, in partnership with the British Department for International Development.
The gathering was held to inform the public about the results of performance of AA activities and the current state of affairs, as well as to involve public in the affairs of local importance, and the budget process, to identify priority problems and their solutions.
The fact that an assembly was attended by a variety of populations, including the entire apparatus of the AA, Speaker and members of the local Parliament, community leaders, representatives of the budgetary organizations, farmers, teachers, pensioners, students, housewives and others, shows a fairly good activity of population in matters of local importance.
At the assembly, the head of Tort-Kul AA presented a full report on the work done in 2011 on the Tort-Kul AA. The deputy head of Tort-Kul AA briefly reported on the results of the analysis based on the PRA-session. Representatives of seven initiative groups presented developed action plans for addressing problems and sensitive issues standing in the Tort-Kul AA: water, garbage, kindergartens and schools, sports and culture, bridges, transparency and accountability of the LSG bodies.
Also the head of the AA acquainted population with the plan of joint activities with a population and LSG bodies of Tort-Kul AA for the next 2012. Speaker of the local Kenesh presented to the public information on coordination and introduction members of initiative groups.
The positive factor was that an assembly was attended by a Mayor of Ton District State Administration - Ryspaev Bakyt Kemelbaevich, who spoke about the successes and prospects of the entire area
Summing up the results of the event, the head of Tort-Kul AA and chairman of the local Kenesh awarded honorary certificates to representatives of the community for their contributions and achievements in the field of local development.
